Since 1976, Gibbs Construction has been the team behind the buildings where we all work and play, grow up, grow smart, and grow old. We're the hardhats you've seen on almost every campus, on every corner. The group behind the Superdome re-skin. The Smoothie King Arena. The Audubon Institute's Cool Zoo. The Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. We work to ensure that every project we touch truly becomes part of the neighborhoods we love.

"Gibbs was creative and collaborative during the planning process and nimble and professional during construction, rolling with the adjustments inherent to a fast-track project and delivering a pair of quality products. I would be pleased to work with Gibbs again and I recommend them as a builder."

Gibbs Project View

Gibbs Construction joined EJ MOB 1, LLC in a design-build contract for the build-out of their 45,000-square-foot multi-tenant health clinic and office space shell located in Metairie’s doctor row.  Ochsner Occupational Health, One Spine Institute, and JenCare Senior Medical Center required Gibbs to tailor three white boxes, all calling for significantly different medical specialties. Additionally, Gibbs’ tied in a new Apolic metal panel cladded three-story ground-up elevator shaft housing two additional ADA-compliant elevators able to accommodate gurney transportation and an extension of the lobbies on each floor.  The upgraded entrance received a new handicap-accessible patient drop-off porte-cochère. The roof modifications, stucco and window repairs, freshly painted facade, and weatherproofing revitalized the exterior envelope.

Inclusively, these tenant spaces encompass health clinics, an occupational care clinic, nurses stations, x-ray imaging, patient retail vision, patient exam rooms, procedure rooms, a blood-draw lab, meeting rooms, regional corporate offices, and back-of-house support spaces outfitted with high-end finishes. The details of custom millwork, coffered lobby ceilings, exposed brick veneer interior walls, and arched cased openings create a warm homelike ambiance for patients in lieu of the traditional institutional atmosphere.

This project provides a fully functional multi-faceted health care resource for various patients.
