The Estimator is responsible for gathering, calculating, and compiling data and information for use in estimates and bid proposals. The Estimator will solicit pricing from subcontractors and material suppliers, perform detailed quantity takeoffs, and compile estimates. Contributes to the maintenance of current and accurate cost data by obtaining prices from vendors, material suppliers and subcontractors. Interacts with owners and A/E’s regarding prospective projects, to seek clarification on construction documents and to provide cost data for their use. The Estimator shall display abilities to maintain schedules, be organized and multi-task on several projects or bid assignments as projects develop. Demonstrates professional communication skills and possesses the ability to understand complex ideas and concepts.
Education and Experience
Four-year construction-related degree
Five to 10 years construction-estimating experience
Proficient personal computer skills including Microsoft Suite, On Screen Take-Off, and Bluebeam
