Founded by Larry Gibbs, an esteemed Brother Martin High School alumni, Gibbs Construction recently completed the prestigious Brother Martin High School Batting Facility. This project holds special significance for us, as it allowed us to contribute to the enhancement of the school’s athletic facilities and provided an opportunity to give back to our founder’s alma mater.
Prior to commencing construction, Gibbs Construction embarked on a meticulous preconstruction process, navigating the challenges of the hard bid process with diligence and expertise. Recognizing the importance of delivering value to our client, we engaged in extensive value engineering efforts to optimize the project’s design and budget. Through collaborative brainstorming sessions and innovative problem solving, we identified opportunities to streamline processes, reduce costs, and enhance overall project efficiency, ensuring that every dollar invested yielded maximum value.
The Brother Martin High School Batting Facility project involved a comprehensive range of modifications and enhancements to the existing site. This included the removal of outdated athletic pits and batting cages, site grading, drainage adjustments, and installing new utilities and connections. The construction of the new facility featured a pile-supported concrete foundation, a galvanized steel framed structure, CMU exterior walls, a TPO roofing membrane, aluminum storefront entrances, open-story fencing, turfed athletic surfaces, and netting enclosures for batting lanes. The result is a cutting-edge facility that provides a safe, functional, and visually appealing space for athletes to train and develop their skills.
Gibbs Construction and Brother Martin’s shared commitment to excellence and mutual respect for each other’s mission and values lay a strong foundation for continued partnership and success. Together, we are poised to embark on new endeavors, further enriching the school community’s educational and athletic experiences.
