Plaquemine Parish Pavilion Renovation

GovernmentRecreationRenovation

Since 1976, Gibbs Construction has been the team behind the buildings where we all work and play, grow up, grow smart, and grow old. We're the hardhats you've seen on almost every campus, on every corner. The group behind the Superdome re-skin. The Smoothie King Arena. The Audubon Institute's Cool Zoo. The Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. We work to ensure that every project we touch truly becomes part of the neighborhoods we love.

Renovations to Plaquemines Parish Government Pavilion consisted of improvements to the parish’s multi-use recreation pavilion on Hebert Boulevard in Belle Chasse. The scope of work was to enclose, insulate and install heating and air-conditioning at the previously open-air pavilion, paid using Sandy Recovery Improvement Act funds from the federal government. An envelope of insulated metal panel walls was added. The existing roof was repaired and insulated with spray foam. A new electrical infrastructure system was added along with a concessions room and updated basketball and volleyball court and equipment.

The completed facility features four full-size basketball courts, and serves to host multiple indoor Recreation Department athletics and community events.
