Four Points by Sheraton, a Bourbon Street historic boutique hotel in the famed French Quarter, flaunts newly renovated rooms and suites with balconies overlooking one of the most iconic neighborhoods.
Gibbs joined the project team during the preconstruction of a design-assist contract, providing the Owner and Architect insight on a phased schedule. Gibbs’ extensive experience working in occupied buildings eliminated all disruptions to the hotel guest experience, keeping the hotel fully operational during this $1.2 million renovation.
The four-floor renovation of corridors and 186 flanking rooms were upgraded from the existing dark and dated hotel finishes, leaving guests with a modern, light-and-airy atmosphere. Additionally, construction also included updates to important support spaces, such as housekeeping offices and a storage room.
Construction responsibilities began with the demolition of the existing finishes and furnishings. The scope progressed with the refinishing and painting of walls, installation of new carpet and wallcoverings, updating electrical outlets and light fixtures, and installing corner guards, drapery valences, and new furnishings. Gibbs managed and installed an additional $2.6 million of owner-provided materials and furniture.
The success of this project has led to a continued relationship between the owner and Gibbs, providing us with a new opportunity to renovate and build at their sister property.
